BINHONG TANG IIDA, LEED AP BD+C
VICE PRESIDENT, INTERIOR DESIGNER
Binhong Tang is an interior designer and the co-founder and Vice President of T+C Architecture and Interior Design, located in Danville, California. Binhong was born in Chengdu, China and grew up in Shanghai. After training in theater set design at the Shanghai Film Art Academy, Binhong moved to the US and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tiffin University in 2013. In 2016, her passion for architecture and interior design began and she received her Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Binhong worked on projects for world famous hospitality design firm Hirsch-Bedner Associates in San Francisco, including Agile Manor for Agile Property, Hilton, Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton. Before traveling to the US, Binhong designed stage sets at the prestigious Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center. She also worked on the opening ceremonies of the Shanghai 2007 Special Olympics, where she learned from top international designers. Binhong’s international and local experiences as an interior and set designer helps her to creatively work with a wide variety of clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area at T+C Architecture and Interior Design.
As Vice President of T+C Architecture and Interior Design, Binhong has added value and an artist’s eye to numerous Bay Area residential and commercial projects from multifamily renovations to commercial tenant improvement projects and more. She has worked with real estate developers, building owners, property managers, general contractors, hospitality chains, high end restaurant owners, commercial developers, and a wide variety of other clients in the San Francisco Bay Area to ensure their project is cohesive from start to finish. By working hand in hand with Nathan, a licensed architect, T+C clients get the expertise of both individuals and the best analysis of what the space should be, while bringing clients’ visions to life. She utilizes her background in sustainable building practices and theater set design to create functional, dramatic spaces, combining technical knowledge with theatrical playfulness.
Binhong is a descendant of the famous Chinese painter, calligrapher, and poet Tang Yin. His painting Drunken Fisherman by a Reed Bank is currently in the permanent collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Binhong showed her passion for art when she was a child while studying painting at Chengdu Art Academy. She grew up on the campus of Chengdu University of Technology, where her father teaches geology. Her mother worked as an engineer and electrician for a train manufacturing company. Binhong spent most of her childhood at the geology laboratory and train factory, enjoying her experience with science and the natural environment. These early experiences continue to inform her work in the Architecture, Interior design and Theater set design fields.
NATHAN CONRAD AIA, LEED AP BD+C
PRESIDENT, ARCHITECT
Nathan Conrad is a licensed Bay Area architect and the co-founder and President of T+C Architecture and Interior Design, located in Danville, California. Nathan is a Danville native who received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2009 and his Master of Architecture from the Academy of Art University in 2015, winning the Graduate School of Architecture Thesis Award his graduating year.
As President of T+C Architecture and Interior Design, Nathan has completed numerous multifamily renovation and addition projects, ADUs, and commercial tenant improvement projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has provided architectural services and construction management services from permit drawings to sequencing and coordination of trades, bidding, on-site quality control, and more for both residential and commercial projects. Utilizing his background in the fine arts and extensive professional experience as a licensed Bay Area architect, Nathan continues to produce high-quality design, combining artistic intuition with practical functionality for a wide variety of clients in Danville, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, Lafayette, Concord, San Francisco and other cities in the Bay Area.
Prior to founding T+C Architecture and Interior Design in 2015, Nathan worked at Volume21 Architects, a boutique residential firm, and BDE Architects, a large multifamily and mixed use firm, both in San Francisco. At BDE, Nathan worked with a wide variety of Bay Area clients and further developed his professional skills. He has also traveled and studied extensively, at institutions such as La Sorbonne and Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Nathan has been a guest lecturer at the Academy of Art University and San Francisco City College. In addition, he has been a guest critic for multiple studios at UC Berkeley, among others. His artwork has been exhibited as part of group exhibitions at the De Young museum and the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. Nathan’s extensive professional and personal experiences allow him to provide the best architectural services to clients who come to T+C Architecture and Interior design.
